Marbling fell out of fashion towards the end of the 19th century. Its primary use by that time was making end pages for books and book publishing was fast becoming mechanized. Today it is part of the book arts but not a big part because other forms of printing and binding are primary. I want the larger art community to recognize the possibilities in marbling and to forward that goal I'm pursuing opportunities to show marbling as art.

Wall Art

I am fascinated by letting the patterns fade into the background and the use of negative space as an art form.

Boxes

I enjoy letting the pattern's movement determine and inspire the size and shape of the box.

Installations

These kinds of pieces allow me to explore new areas of the art form -- building a language and testing the boundaries of the form.
